In 2013 my parents and I gave a surprise to my uncles. We showed up in front of their house in Mauleon after 10 hours of driving from Portugal.
My aunt seems so happy in the photo below, right?
I brought a chopper bicycle to Portugal to restore it
mauleon, france
My uncle found this chopper bike in a junkyard in France and I decided to bring it to Portugal to restore it.
I needed to disassemble the bike to fit it in the car.
5 days after we arrived to Portugal the restoration result was a clean orange bike with a go-fast bull sticker affixed to the side of the bike.
The first restoration happened in 2013... But at the beginning of 2021, to fight the lockdown from Covid situation, I started thinking about converting it into a moto bike...
So I bought an 80cc 2-stroke motor kit on Amazon for just 100€ and... voilá!
I will never forget the moment when I made the first test drive and the engine started... I smiled so much like a little kid again, haha
In this video I'm going to show you the complete conversion process of my chopper bike into a moto bike!
Hope that you enjoy the video.
Camp de Gurs| Holocaust
gurs, france
Gurs internment camp was an internment camp and prisoner-of-war camp constructed in 1939 in Gurs, a site in southwestern France.
The camp was originally set up by the French government after the fall of Catalonia at the end of the Spanish Civil War to control those who fled Spain out of fear of retaliation from Francisco Franco's regime.
At the beginning of World War II, the French government interned 4,000 German Jews, along with French socialist political leaders and those who opposed the war with Germany.
Why do Jews place stones or pebbles on a grave?
There are many different interpretations for this. One of them is: Flowers, though beautiful, will eventually die. A stone can symbolize the permanence of memory and will not die.
Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes
lourdes, france
This Sanctuary is a destination for pilgrimage. Sick pilgrims are reputed to be miraculously healed by Lourdes water.
Lourdes water is water which flows from a spring in the Grotto of Massabielle in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes.
The location of the spring was described to Bernadette Soubirous by an apparition of Our Lady of Lourdes on 25 February 1858. Since that time, many thousands of pilgrims to Lourdes have followed the instruction of the Blessed Virgin Mary to "drink at the spring and bathe in it". Lourdes water is considered non-liturgical holy water.
